Subject: A BENEFIT CONCERT
Máirtín de Cógáin, THE KID FROM CORK is to come to visit Cleveland on Sunday evening March 28th, at 7:00 pm in a small cozy hall at Triune Lutheran Church in Broadview Heights, he will be joined by a few of the locals in music, Domenic Kilroy on fiddle and Dermot Somerville on flute and guitar, and a bit of dancing with Pat Campbell and a student or two. It is also a place where tea, coffee and soda bread will be available to complete the package.
Máirtín was in the movie THE WIND THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY, not as a star role, however, it is his singing voice that carries the soundtrack.
DONATIONS ARE $15.00 in advance / $20.00 at the door. If you enjoy the language spun in the old way laced with proverbs and wit,or if you enjoy singing in the grand style of the high culture either in English or in Gaelic then come and join us as we witness this man’s talents and passion for his native culture.
PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT: Alex Pratt. A young dancer from Cleveland that is competing in the world championships in Scotland.
